Hello
There is a customer who has a cloud server, but it cannot open additional ports.
Is there a solution using kbmMW in this scenario?
I’m thinking of using WIB, but I don’t know where to begin with, is it possible? other solution ?
Thanks in advance.
Greetings

Hi,
I assume you mean that the customer will not accept opening any additional incoming ports on the computer/firewall which his server sits behind?
Using the WIB, kbmMW can operate in a number of ways:
– Client connects to Server (traditional way). The server needs to have opened up for inbound ports used with kbmMW.
– Server connects to a Client (reverse way). In fact the client will have client functionality, but communication wise act as a server and the server will have server functionality, but communication wise act like a client establishing a connection outwards. The server only needs to have opened up for outbound ports in the firewalls, while the client now have the burden of needing to opening up inbound ports used for the communication.
– Both server and client operates communication wise as a client, connecting outwards. It require a 3rd. proxy server installed somewhere on the internet. That proxy require opening of inbound ports in the firewall, but since the proxy does not contain any database or business logic, it is less dangerous to expose, although you need to ensure that communication is running securely over encrypted lines. Neither the server nor the client require any open inbound ports.
The Remote Desktop WIB demo shows of both the client to server setup and optionally the use of a proxy server to allow access to a server that sits behind a firewall that can’t be opened.
