      Hi Kim

What is the minimum version of Delphi supported by kbmMW ?

Will you bring back Lazarus/fpc support? latest versions have delphi compatible generics, I don’t know if that was the showstopper before, I need to support an old project made with kbmMW and it will be nice to user the latest codebase but I’m stuck on XE3, so my options are Lazarus/fpc or XE3, Lazarus would be a long term solution for me, if that won’t happen maybe the server project sadly will be migrated to another technology stack

      Hi,

Currently i do not recommend anything earlier than XE5 because of issues with generics, anonymous functions, inline, rtti and other bugs in previous versions.

Will it run on XE3? I cant say for sure as I have not tested newer versions against it for quite a while. kbmMW v4.xx should work on XE3.

Regarding Lazarus/FPC, then it is correct that generics were a big issue to not being able to support kbmMW v5 on FPC. But also attributes, extended RTTI and anonymous functions were a problem earlier. I think latest version of FPC should support it all, but I have not had the time to follow up on it.

The Lazarus project file surely needs an update by adding a number of new units to it, but if you have access to the latest version, you could try it out as an early test?

Ok, my old https://portal.components4developers.com/ credentials doesn’t work anymore, I will bite the bullet and go for a pro License, I will try to make it work on Lazarus and if that is not possible I’ll have to discuss with my customer if he can give me access to a more recent Delphi or  we move out from pascal for this matter.

Purchase made, I did my licence request on May 21, still waiting for approval.

      Would you mind checking it?
